About the training: This six hour in depth course covers the information needed to recognize physical, sexual and emotional abuse and neglect.  It includes extensive discussion of indicators of abuse as well as mandated reporting procedures.  This training meets the requirements of the ODJFS for child abuse recognition and reporting training.  A Certificate of Attendance or ODJFS In-service form will be provided to all participants.  6 CEU credits for social workers and counselors are available for an additional cost.

About your trainer: Carrie Joseph is the Prevention Specialist for the Domestic Violence & Child Advocacy Center.  Carrie conducts training throughout the community on Child Abuse awareness and violence prevention.  Her work includes early intervention programs for young children, promoting healthy relationships for teens and young adults, healthy parenting programs and providing educational workshops throughout the county for Domestic Violence & Child Abuse awareness and prevention. Carrie is a graduate of the University of Akron with degrees in Criminal Justice and Social Work.  She is a trained trainer for the Perpetration Prevention Program curricula developed by the Kempe Institute in Denver Colorado.  She is also a trained facilitator for the ACT Raising Safe Kids Parenting Program developed by the American Psychological Association.
